About this site

An independent educational resource

matanginihazra.com is an independent, non-commercial educational resource on the life, political participation and legacy of Matangini Hazra. It is not affiliated with any government body, political party, institution or family estate, and it does not claim to represent any of them.

Its historical content is drawn from published accounts of the Quit India Movement in Medinipur, district histories, and scholarship on women’s participation in the Indian national movement. Where the record is incomplete or sources disagree, the site states so rather than filling the gap.
